This cute little realistic chipmunk drawing/painting was a joy to work on. He became a little friend that lifted my spirits every time I worked on him. He just makes me happy every time I look at him.
In this painting, I find a reminder that even the smallest of creatures can inspire art and that life's simple pleasures are worth celebrating.
Did you know chipmunks can stash an impressive amount of food in their cheek pouches? These tiny creatures can stretch their cheeks up to three times the size of their heads, filling them with seeds, nuts, and berries to take back to their burrows. In fact, some chipmunks can hold up to nine acorns at once in their cheeks! This adorable "cheek-packing" habit helps them stockpile food for winter when they hibernate.
